| Here is the story, I baught a $20 mic (it's cyber acoustics AC-634) I know its a crappy mic, but anyway it works ingame for about 30 sec. and then won't transmit anymore.Dogfighter knows, I've asked him twice during the first 30 sec. or so of a round if my mic is working. he's answered both times yes, but then I'll ask him later in a round and there is no response. any help would be much appreciated | |

| heres something i had to do.. dont ask but it worked. Often time sound distortions or repetitive glitches can be the cause of a bigger problem. Sound driver conflicts can be linked to not just sound distortions and glitches but random and specific crashes during a game. You can temporarily disable some of the advanced audio processing techniques to try and bypass these issues by lowering your DirectX sound acceleration. To lower your sound acceleration, do the following: - Quote :
1. Click Start. 2. Click Run. 3. Type in DXDIAG into the available text field, and press OK. 4. Once the DirectX Diagnostic tool has loaded, click on the Sound tab. 1. This tab will show you your sound device and drivers. 2. Warning : Should this tab be blank, refer to your computer manufacturer for the proper sound drivers. 5. In the DirectX Features section, adjust the slide bar from where it is currently to Basic acceleration. 1. Warning : This may disable advanced audio features which worked previously in other games. Should you notice a negative change in any other game, simply change the acceleration level back to where it was or to Full Acceleration. 6. Click the Exit button. 7. Start your game, and verify that the game now works properly. Now if your running vista you will notice theres no way to set it to Basic, as i have figured this out the hard way, so just let your computer detect what you are running and it will be fine, If this does not work try the program that came with the game in this file here program files/ea games/battlefield 2 File is called: BF2VoiceSetup.exe (personally i dont think this program works on vista, still dont know if you run vista or not since you havent told me) Best of luck and i hope this works for you. (im feeling the flower power today... No im not gay. just act it sometimes) | |

| i use a regular phone headset with a splitter at the end, never had any problems, everyone says I sound clear so I never bought one for the computer this also allows me to answer the phone while I play, I just unplug it from the splitter and back in to my phone... call me lazy I guess. | |
