PostSubject: Ventrillo question   Ventrillo question Icon_minitimeWed Feb 04, 2009 1:25 pm

I need a little input as to what microphone/headset works best with ventrillo, I play at times while others are asleep and would prefer a headset w/mic that fits in or covers one ear only. I have done some research, but wanted to ask those who use ventrillo what they like best.
I realize it's subjective, that's exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks

I started using Vent a couple years back. At first I used the high end Altec Lansing Headset that covered your whole ear ($100.) Had issues with the cord, wires were too thin or something. Then I tried Bose I think, either way I had a hard time hearing with that high end set.

Finally, the best set I ever had was from walmart, $9.95 logitech Cheapo-headset.

Cheers

Thanks for that!
Was hoping a regular Plantronics model would work well enough, I ordered one today it will be here in few days.

Thats what I just picked up. I like the mic, but the headset leaves something to be desired. If you are using headphones, you really need stereo, both ears, so you can hear them sneaking up on you. The are some decent USB Simulated 5.1 headphones out right now. That is my next upgrade, after the MoBo, processor, video card, power supply, and the rest that Formed recommended! Wink

The more expensive one pushed on my ears and after about an hour I had to take them off. Ouch!

plantronics digital with mike boom...cover complete ears and are soft....got mine at best buy. The smaller type head sets wear the foam from the ears resulting in plastic to ear syndrome.

I've had mine for over a year and there is no visible wear on the foam.
And they only cost $25, I could buy almost four pairs for the price of yours.
And I wear glasses so wraparound headphones are in practically for me.
