First, I made it clear throughout my posts that it was not an aimbot, but rather an "aim enhancement", i.e., a "gsinterpolationtime" code entered into our console.

Second, aside from all the rhetoric and semantics flying back and forth on this subject, I see above that there has been an admission of guilt re the use "gsinterpolationtime" console hitbox enhancements on our server.

That's more than enough reason for me to ban a player.

I withdraw from further discussion on this issue.

Admission of guilt?

- Changing your interpolation is allowed by punkbuster and there's no mention of it in the bf2 ROE.It's a very common thing to do, not just in bf2 but in CS as well for example.

- As I've said, in bf2 the interpolation is dynamic, it auto-adjusts to your ping, so me changing it manually has no effect. I'll gladly prove it to you.

- Many players have plenty of things changed in their user.con settings, including interpolation, all of them completely legal and I'm sure you haven't banned anyone for something like this before. Everyone has access to these settings, this would be almost the same as if you banned for using certain video settings or a different crosshair color or hell using higher/lower mouse sensitivity.
There's no justification for it.

Let's finish this story.

We ban players for suspect of hacking ? Yes
BG11 was banned for suspect of hacking ? Yes
Do we have proof ? No
Not all hacks can be proved.
This is not the first player we ban for suspect of hacking and will not be the last one too.
BG11 ban was decided by enough admins (elders).

I saw your video BG11.
Now I understand why they think you are hacking.
No signs of hacks are shown on that video.
I learned something watching your video.
If you are that good, then congratulations.

What video settings are you using ?

Let's make a concerted effort to ban only players we're certain are hacking.

I've seen too many players on the ban list that I've played with hundreds of time while never suspecting them of hacking.

There are aimbots and there are "aimbot good" players.

Detecting an aimbot player is like finding an elephant in a phone booth.

You can't miss them. The sound of the shot. The lethality of the hit. Unmistakable.

Just because there are players with superior skills, doesn't mean they're hacking.

I've been banned for hacking from a half dozen servers, and accused of using hacks hundreds of times.

And I would rather lose a limb than use a hack, so go figure.

Well guys if our two best hacker-catchers agree this guy is not cheating and the ban be lifted then we need to issue a formal apology and welcome him to the server. I'm not comfortable with all the shit thats been talked on here and no proof to go with it and back it up after all this time. Continue the investigation but save the smack til you've got something concrete cause we look like sniveling punks.
